Dock Builders Hudson

Dock builders in Hudson keep the dock, lift canopy and moored boat together within one third of the waterway width, never past a channel edge or the side-use lines, and never leaving a canal less than 12 feet navigable (Pasco LDC Sec. 1001.5.A).

How width is measured

Width is taken at the narrowest point between seawalls, or between mean low water lines where there are no seawalls. No structure may sit within 15 feet of mean high water on the upland side of a waterfront lot (Sec. 1001.4.A).

Seagrass and permits

Pasco sets seagrass protection zones in its Gulf waters (Code Sec. 114-54), and the Nature Coast Aquatic Preserve covers this coast. Inside an aquatic preserve, FDEP online self-certification is not available.

Width is measured between seawalls, and docks, lifts, pilings and roofs stay under 15 feet above mean high water wherever the seawall cap sits (Sec. 1001.4.B).

Why it matters

Heights

Docks, lifts, pilings and roofs stop at 15 feet above mean high water, and enclosed structures over water are prohibited for new work.

A free inspection tells you which one you are looking at.

What a free inspection includes

A contractor comes to your property, looks at the structure above and below the waterline where needed, and tells you what is actually happening.

You get a written scope and estimate. No obligation, no trip fee.

  • On-site assessment of the structure and surrounding soil
  • Photos and a plain-English explanation of the problem
  • Written estimate with scope and materials
  • Repair versus replacement guidance where both are options
