HERNANDO BEACH, FLORIDA
Dock Builders Hernando Beach
Dock builders in Hernando Beach work to two limits: a dock with a boat lift may reach 30 feet and 20% of the waterway width, and a dock without one 25 feet and 17%, with width measured from mean low water (Hernando County Code Sec. 8-247).
We connect Hernando Beach owners with licensed marine contractors who design to it.
Free consultation and a written scope.
Narrow canals
On waterbodies 60 feet wide or less, docks must alternate with the dock on the opposite side. Side setbacks are at least 5 feet, access ramps no wider than 6 feet, and no more than two boats may be moored permanently at a residential dock.
The Hernando Beach Channel
Lots on the marked Hernando Beach Channel from marker 53 to marker 80 follow the same 20% and 17% limits, measured from mean high water to the seaward side of the channel (Sec. 8-251).

Why it matters
Pilings and shared docks
A single mooring piling stays inside the side setback and no farther out than the lesser of 20% or 30 feet, with reflective material. Neighbors can share a dock with recorded easements.
