Seawall and Dock Contractors on the Space Coast

Seawall and dock contractors on the Space Coast work three parallel water bodies, and naming the right one is half the job.

Licensed Permits handled Florida waterfront

We connect waterfront homeowners in Brevard County with licensed marine contractors who work the Indian River, the Banana River and the Merritt Island canals.

The inspection is free and you get a written estimate before anyone touches your property.

Mangroves are the most common way to get into trouble here

Trimming or removing mangroves without confirming an exemption or obtaining DEP authorisation is prohibited in the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, and Florida’s mangrove rules govern the rest of the county.

Work on the shoreline of the Indian River Lagoon system, canals included, needs a permit demonstrating no adverse impact, reviewed through Brevard County Natural Resources Management. If the plan is a new dock with a clear view, the mangrove question should be settled before anything else.

Why it matters

A shallow lagoon with a long fetch loads a wall differently

The Banana River runs 31 miles between the outer barrier islands and Merritt Island, and the Indian River is wide and open north of Titusville. Sustained wind across that much shallow water produces a steady chop rather than the surge events that define the Gulf coast.

Brevard also runs Save Our Indian River Lagoon, a restoration programme funded by a half-cent sales tax with homeowner resources attached. Worth knowing about before committing to a hardened wall.

A free inspection tells you which one you are looking at.

What a free inspection includes

A contractor comes to your property, looks at the structure above and below the waterline where needed, and tells you what is actually happening.

You get a written scope and estimate. No obligation, no trip fee.

  • On-site assessment of the structure and surrounding soil
  • Photos and a plain-English explanation of the problem
  • Written estimate with scope and materials
  • Repair versus replacement guidance where both are options
