Concrete seawall cap along a Treasure Island waterway

TREASURE ISLAND, FLORIDA

Seawall Repair Treasure Island

Seawall repair in Treasure Island has a hard limit: if new panels would cover more than half your shoreline, the city treats the job as a new seawall.

Licensed Permits handled Florida waterfront

We connect owners on Isle of Capri, Treasure Bay and Boca Ciega Bay with licensed marine contractors who know where that line falls.

The inspection is free and the scope arrives in writing.

Repair or full replacement

City code defines a major repair as new panels on more than 50% of the shoreline length and does not allow one (Sec. 69-75). Past that point the owner builds a new seawall or a living shoreline across the full property.

That makes the panel count matter. A careful survey can be the difference between a repair and a full rebuild.

Aiming for 5 feet NAVD88

The drainage manual adopted in February 2026 asks walls to strive for a top elevation of 5.0 feet NAVD88. It is a goal, not a requirement, and the yard grade at the wall must match the cap.

Seawalls are not allowed on the Gulf side at all.

Why it matters

What goes in the permit package

Any seawall work needs a city permit, with plans signed and sealed by a Florida professional engineer. The city checklist adds a boundary survey, an elevation worksheet in NAVD88 from a licensed surveyor, a drainage plan and an erosion control plan.

A free inspection tells you which one you are looking at.
