Natural waterways
On natural water such as the Peace River, Myakka River and Charlotte Harbor, docks stay within 25% of the span and at least 15 feet from the centerline or channel edge. The target depth is 4 feet below mean low water, verified by a bathymetric survey.

Why it matters
Details
Roof overhang is capped at 2 feet. Anything more than 15 feet out needs reflectors and white tops, and docks at canal ends follow a 45 degree rule. If the standards cannot be met, a special exception is the path (Sec. 3-9-6.2).
