Why it matters

Depth and permits

Slips need at least 3 feet of water at mean low water. The village permit comes with state and federal permits, and the Director may ask for sealed plans, a riparian survey and an as-built survey (Sec. 7-401).

New docks reaching Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve waters must also fit the state’s preserve standards, including a terminal platform of 160 square feet or less.

A free inspection tells you which one you are looking at.
