KEY LARGO, FLORIDA
Boat Lift Installation Key Largo
Boat lift installation in Key Largo with a roof is limited: boat shelters go only over a cut-in slip, basin or ramp, with a roof no more than 12 feet above grade and no deck on top (Monroe County LDC Sec. 118-12).
We put Key Largo owners in touch with licensed marine contractors who plan lifts and docks together.
Free consultation, a written scope, no obligation.
Placement
The boat may not extend past the side property lines extended into the water, and dock, vessel and lift together stay within 25% of the navigable portion. Shelters may not sit over mangroves, seagrass or hardbottom.
Permits
DEP and Army Corps permits come first, then the county. Lift roofs may not overhang more than 1 foot beyond the lift and boat.

Why it matters
State limits
Florida Keys waters are an Outstanding Florida Water, where a state-exempt private dock tops out at 500 square feet of over-water area, roofs and canopies included. Dredged residential canals are excluded from that designation, and there the limit is 1,000 square feet.
What a free inspection includes
A contractor comes to your property, looks at the structure above and below the waterline where needed, and tells you what is actually happening.
You get a written scope and estimate. No obligation, no trip fee.
- On-site assessment of the structure and surrounding soil
- Photos and a plain-English explanation of the problem
- Written estimate with scope and materials
- Repair versus replacement guidance where both are options
