Concrete seawall cap along a Coral Gables waterway

CORAL GABLES, FLORIDA

Seawall Repair Coral Gables

Seawall repair in Coral Gables is built to Zoning Code Sec. 3-706: a 6 foot minimum on the older NGVD datum, strong enough to support a 7.5 foot wall later.

Licensed Permits handled Florida waterfront

We connect Gables owners on Biscayne Bay and the canals with licensed marine contractors who build to it.

Free inspection, a written scope, no obligation.

Materials

Walls must be reinforced, pre-stressed or gravity mass concrete, designed by a Florida registered engineer. Concrete block or native stone is allowed only west of LeJeune Road and north of Sunset Road.

Permits

Repairs need Miami-Dade DERM’s Class I permit and a City of Coral Gables building permit. On Biscayne Bay, the state preserve requires rip-rap with any new or replaced wall.

Why it matters

Converting the datum

NGVD sits about 1.55 feet off NAVD88 in Miami-Dade, according to the county. Ask the engineer to state both numbers in the scope.

A free inspection tells you which one you are looking at.

You get a written scope and estimate. No obligation, no trip fee.

  • On-site assessment of the structure and surrounding soil
  • Photos and a plain-English explanation of the problem
  • Written estimate with scope and materials
